In connection with a shortage of aircraft in Russia due to large-scale sanctions, Kazan Aircraft Plant (KAZ) has begun to increase its capacities to restore the potential of the Tu-214 by replacing imported systems with domestic ones. Rostec emphasizes that demand for the Tu-214 is still low: "There are not many machines available for commercial use yet. In our opinion, this indicates that the market is just starting to 'warm up'." The state corporation stated: "We will strengthen our work with airlines and more actively promote the Tu-214 in the market." According to Rostec data, two Tu-214 aircraft will be delivered to commercial structures by 2025. Previous plans for the production of four Tu-214 airliners in 2025 have been canceled due to low demand from commercial carriers. According to the Comprehensive Program for the Development of Civil Aviation Industry for the period 2024-2030, it is planned to produce 113 Tu-214s.
