Vice President of TSMC, Peter Cleveland, informed about the company's decision to build a third plant in Arizona to support 'US leadership in artificial intelligence.' The new plant will manufacture chips with 2 nm norms and finer ones. Launch is planned for around 2030. Foundation work for the factory will begin in the coming days. TSMC's first Arizona factory produces chips using 4nm standards, while the second one, scheduled to launch approximately in 2028, will produce chips using 3 nm, 2 nm, and even 1.6 nm processes.
