In the White House, US President Donald Trump announced a suspension of some previously imposed tariffs, noting: "Over time we will look at this. There are some companies that by their nature suffer a little more and we will look at this and show a little flexibility." Apple's stocks continued to lose value until April 9th when it was reported about the halt in tariffs. Trump emphasized the goal of moving production to the USA, stating: "Apple is planning to spend 500 billion dollars on building a factory." Apple will pay a 125 percent tariff on all products from China to the USA; however, the company can import devices from India, Taiwan, and Vietnam with a lower rate.
