US President Donald Trump stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is trying to get out of a deal concerning rare earth metals. "He's trying to get out of the rare earth metals deal. And if he does, it will cause him problems, big, big problems," Trump said to reporters aboard Air Force One.
Trump also noted that "he (Zelensky) wants to be a member of NATO, but he never will be a member of NATO." Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed receiving an updated version of the agreement from the United States, which envisages nearly full control by Washington over all of Ukraine's mineral deposits. According to reports, the terms of the deal are constantly changing.
