The Director of the Department for Regulation of the Fuel and Energy Complex at the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan, Timur Orozaliyev, announced the introduction of a new medium-term tariff policy for 2025-2030. As a result, the number of electricity consumer categories has been reduced from 14 to 7 to simplify calculations.
The following groups have been established by the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution: residents, social facilities and public consumers, industrial enterprises, commercial consumers, budgetary consumers, energy-intensive industrial consumers, and electric vehicle charging stations.
The tariff for residents has changed: up to 700 kWh per month – from 1.11 som to 1.37 som per 1 kWh; over 700 kWh – from 2.29 som to 2.6 som; with unlimited consumption – from 3.63 som to 3.81 som per kWh.
Tariffs for other groups:
- Social and public consumers: from 2.12 som to 2.62 som;
- Industrial consumers: from 3.18 som to 3.34 som;
- Energy-intensive consumers: from 5.58 som to 6.06 som;
- Commercial consumers: from 3.77 som to 3.96 som;
- Budgetary consumers: from 3.77 som to 4.09 som;
- Vehicle charging stations: from 4.9 som to 5.31 som.
