The company SpaceX has launched two new ground stations to support the Starlink system in Spain. The stations are located in the cities of Helida (province of Barcelona) and Santa Olalia (province of Toledo). These facilities complement existing ground stations in the provinces of Madrid, Huelva, and Alicante, which began operations in 2022. Ground stations provide connectivity between Starlink satellites and users, transmitting data at high speeds. The global low-orbit Starlink constellation comprises over 7,000 satellites, with plans to increase their number to 42,000. SpaceX has launched a new initiative in Spain: the standard equipment kit for connecting to the Starlink network, which includes a satellite antenna, base, router, and cables, is provided free of charge with a one-year subscription to the service at a cost of €40 per month.
