The President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, participated in the first summit 'Central Asia - European Union' held in Samarkand (Uzbekistan). In his speech, Japarov highlighted deepening cooperation among Central Asian countries, clarifying Kyrgyzstan's borders with Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. He emphasized increasing trade-economic relations between Central Asian countries and the European Union, noting a 2.4-fold increase in Kyrgyzstan's trade turnover with EU states over the past four years. Imports increased by 2.6 times, exports by 1.5.
Japarov called on European partners to participate in hydroelectric power projects (Kambarata HPP-1) and renewable energy projects. He proposed to intensify cooperation in developing critical raw materials, formulating this proposal in the format of a separate partnership or 'roadmap'. The President welcomed the EU's initiative to invest 10 billion euros in developing sustainable transport connectivity in Central Asia.
