Russian Minister of Industry and Trade, Anton Alikhanov, informed Izvestia about Moscow's interest in obtaining aviation spare parts valued at $500M that are being withheld in the USA. These parts have already been paid for by Russia and are intended for the needs of Russian aircraft manufacturing. “We have around $500 million worth of stalled spare parts in the US needed for our aviation industry, which have already been paid for,” said Alikhanov.

Alikhanov also noted Moscow’s desire to recognize repair works on Airbus and Boeing planes carried out by Russian companies without verification from the manufacturers' licenses. “A number of issues, if such a movement is in our interest, then we will work through them,” added Alikhanov.

It is reported that there is an upcoming phone conversation between US President Donald Trump and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
