The Voronezh-based factory 'Quant' has ceased producing Irbis brand televisions across all sizes from 32 to 65 inches, the only ones included in the register of Russian radio-electronic products by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Production resumption is not planned until the end of the third quarter of 2025 due to low demand and difficulties with documentation for including the products in the registry.
Larisa Senina, Director of the Consumer Electronics Department at 'Marvel-Distribution,' confirmed that 'Quant' was the only producer of registered televisions. Vladislav Borodin, Head of Household Electronics at OCS, noted that Irbis televisions are less competitive in price compared to retail competitors.
The company 'Quant,' registered in 2016, had a revenue of RUB 15.9 billion and net profit of RUB 3.2 million for the year 2023. The plant is capable of producing up to 3,500 televisions per shift.
According to 'Kontur.Zakupki' platform data, in 2024, the number of tenders for television purchases increased by 15% compared to last year; however, in monetary terms, volume decreased by 6.6%, reaching RUB 3.3 billion. Most purchases were from brands LG, Sony, Samsung, Xiaomi, and Haier.
Quant's partners include DNS, LG Display, 'Yandex,' and BBK.
