Professor Xiaofeng Wang from Indiana University has gone missing after FBI raids at his homes in Bloomington and Carmel (Indiana state). The FBI conducted the raids on March 28, 2025. During the raid, which lasted four hours, several boxes were taken out of the house. Professor's wife, Nianli Ma, was also involved in the raids: her profile disappeared from the university library website simultaneously with Wang's data. The family's lawyer refused to comment on the reasons for the investigation. Indiana University did not confirm Wang and Ma's employment at the institution, referring to a 'FBI-related inquiry'. The FBI press office limited itself to a standard statement about 'court-authorized activity' without disclosing details. Matthew Green from Johns Hopkins University noted that Wang has been out of touch for two weeks and his students have not received any response from him.
