At a meeting of the parliamentary committee on international affairs, defense, security and migration, parliamentarians removed the agreement between Kyrgyzstan and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development on the 'Electric Public Transport of Osh' project. The document provided for an allocation of 14 million 740 thousand euros to the city, including a 5 million euro grant for purchasing trolleybuses. However, the municipality of the southern capital decided to purchase 30 electric buses instead.

Baktyiar Kalpaev, MP, addressed Ulugbek Kalendarov: 'The vice-mayor of Osh says that trolleybuses are low-cost. Meanwhile, in Bishkek's city hall, when eliminating this type of transport, they said they were spending 205 million soms on subsidies.' Kalpaev noted: 'It is the same transportation, but with different indicators. You would organize meetings between the two municipalities. In three to four years, will you say again that this is an unprofitable transport and eliminate it?'
