The company MTS is preparing to test the technology of direct 'satellite-smartphone' connection and the integration of base stations into satellite systems. In mid-April, the State Commission for Radio Frequencies (GCRF) plans to allocate the necessary radio frequencies to MTS for conducting tests within the development of hybrid 5G satellite networks. The technology will provide stable communication for residents in remote areas, dacha owners, and coverage along highways and railway tracks. Mass implementation of mobile satellite communications is expected by the end of the 2020s.
