The series production of the Lada Iskra model began at the AvtoVAZ plant in the city of Togliatti on April 19. However, the project faced serious problems due to a lack of components for car assembly. Insiders from the public Avtograd pointed out that the supplier failed to manufacture a plastic insert for the rear wheel arch expansion in the required color, leading to a difference from other parts of the car. The issues extend to seats, wire harnesses, and electronic modules.

Avtograd predicts the start of real industrial production of the Lada Iskra model closer to 2026. AvtoVAZ announced the start of sales of the new model as of July 20 of this year. The base version of the Lada Iskra, which is a sedan with a 1.6-liter engine producing 90 horsepower, a five-speed manual transmission, and minimal options, will cost around 1.2 million rubles.
