NASA specialists are nearing completion of key components construction for the Gateway lunar station. By 2026, it is planned to assemble two main modules together: the HALO (Habitation and Logistics Outpost) living module, created in Italy, and the PPE (Power and Propulsion Element) energy module. The HALO module has already been delivered to the USA, and soon its equipping with life support systems will begin. NASA engineer John Olsensen emphasized: "In addition to hardware, software development for station management is of decisive importance." Gateway will be a crucial transit point for missions to the Moon and deep space. The station will be located in a lunar orbit and is conceived as an international project involving NASA, European Space Agency (ESA), Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), and Canadian Space Agency (CSA).
