Sales of electric vehicles in Russia have sharply declined by 69% in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, according to analytical agency 'Autostat'. A total of 1,854 cars were sold over three months. The decline in sales has been ongoing for nine consecutive months since July 2024 and is characterized by an acceleration of the reduction rates: in January it fell by 56%, in February — 68%, and in March — 77%. The total volume of sales for the entire quarter was lower than the figure for one month in March 2024 (2,499 units), when the market reached its peak before the tightening of import rules through EAEU countries starting April 1, 2024.
The leader among brands remains Zeekr, which holds a market share of 37% and has sold 689 vehicles. In second place is Avatr (193 units), third — Evolute (164 units). Fourth and fifth places are occupied by ORA (133 units) and 'Moskvich' (103 units).
The most popular model was Zeekr 001, with sales reaching 384 units. In second place is Avatr 11 with a figure of 164 vehicles. Third place is held by Evolute i-PRO (124 units), fourth — ORA 03 (133 units). Rounding out the top five leaders is 'Moskvich 3e' with a result of 103 sold cars.
