Tests have begun on China's latest high-altitude drone, the Rainbow-9 (Caihong-9), developed by the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC). The aircraft successfully flew for more than 20 hours at an airfield in Shaanxi Province. The Rainbow-9 is capable of making autonomous decisions and coordinating actions with other drones, as well as working in conjunction with piloted aircraft. The drone can remain airborne for up to 40 hours, traveling at a speed between 600 to 900 km/h and reaching an altitude above 10 thousand meters. The Rainbow-9 has a wingspan of 24.8 meters.
