On April 18, Lin Jian, the official spokesperson for China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, refuted Kyiv's accusations regarding weapons supplies to Russia, stating: "China rejects groundless accusations and political manipulation." The MFA emphasized that China has never supplied lethal arms to any side involved in the conflict. All dual-use goods are subject to strict control.
Also on April 18, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed an order imposing sanctions against three Chinese companies: Beijing Aviation And Aerospace Xianghui Technology Co. Ltd, Rui Jin Machinery Co. Ltd, and Zhongfu Shenying Carbon Fiber Xining Co. Ltd.
Beijing rejected Zelensky's assertions that Chinese officials were aware of the involvement of Chinese citizens in the conflict in Ukraine, calling these statements "irresponsible".
