Sultanbai Ayigitov, who has lost his parliamentary mandate of Jogorku Kenesh, stated that there was pressure from the GKNB and the prosecution on the Central Election Commission (CEC). According to Ayigitov, the guilty verdict by Sokuluk District Court in 2017 does not entail a criminal record. “That’s why I indicated that I have no criminal record. What kind of concealment is this? Representatives of GKNB and General Prosecution are manipulating and misleading society and CEC,” Ayigitov said.
The head of the CEC, Tyntystyk Shainazarov, noted that representatives of GKNB and General Prosecution were invited to a meeting on their initiative and they did not exert pressure. On March 19, speaking in Jogorku Kenesh, the head of GKNB Kamchybek Tashiev said: “Do not be surprised if CEC revokes Sultanbai Ayigitov’s parliamentary mandate.” According to him, in 2017, Ayigitov beat a boy and was held criminally responsible.
“I deliberately brought this case to an end. But the court discontinued it due to the expiration of the statute of limitations, that is, I have no criminal record at all,” said the MP.
On March 5, Sultanbai Ayigitov expressed his opinion during a parliamentary session that Kyrgyzstan needs to regain the village of Dostuk, not share the “Golovnoy” water intake with neighbors on a 50/50 basis, and not give away lands around the Voruk enclave. After this, he was expelled from the faction “Yiyman Nuru”. On March 25, President Sadyr Japarov ratified an agreement on state border with Tajikistan, agreements on the use of road intersections and ensuring access to water management and energy facilities.
