A retro-PC enthusiast, Ahmad Biyagowi, has begun a project to reverse-engineer all components of the IBM PalmTop PC110 pocket notebook computer, which was launched in September 1995. The device is equipped with an Intel 486SX processor running at 33 MHz with passive cooling and measures 158×133×33 mm with a weight of 630 grams. The IBM PalmTop PC110 features a color display measuring 11.9 cm diagonally, with a resolution of 640x480 pixels and a palette of 256 colors. The video adapter is an integrated 16-bit VGA card from Chips & Technologies F65 535 with 1 MB of video memory. Biyagowi noted that repairing such pocket computers can be challenging due to the limited availability of technical information and the rarity of spare parts. The goal of the project is to collect all available diagrams and technical descriptions of the IBM PalmTop PC110, as well as recreate its circuit boards. The enthusiast has already recreated the motherboard, power supply unit, modem, keyboard, and memory module circuit boards using open-source CAD KiCaD. The device comes with 4/8 MB of RAM. The reverse-engineering process continues, requiring significant effort to analyze PC schematics.
