AMD has introduced a new generation of mobile processors Ryzen 8040HX (Dragon Range Refresh), designed to replace the models from the Ryzen 7045HX series. The new lineup includes four models: AMD Ryzen 9 8945HX, AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX, AMD Ryzen 7 8840HX and AMD Ryzen 7 8745HX.
The AMD Ryzen 9 8945HX has 16 cores/32 threads, a base frequency of 2.5 GHz, boost frequency up to 5.4 GHz, 80 MB cache memory and TDP from 55 to 75 W. The AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX has the same characteristics but with a base frequency of 2.4 GHz and boost frequency at 5.3 GHz.
The AMD Ryzen 7 8840HX is equipped with 12 cores/24 threads, a base frequency of 2.9 GHz, boost frequency up to 5.1 GHz, and TDP from 45 to 75 W. The AMD Ryzen 7 8745HX has 8 cores/16 threads, a base frequency of 3.6 GHz, boost frequency at 5.1 GHz, cache memory of 40 MB, and TDP from 45 to 75 W.
All processors support up to 64 GB DDR5-5200 RAM and 28 lanes PCIe 5.0.
